You can achieve greater success in your sales technique by actually talking a whole lot less.

Listening to the response of your potential customer will provide you with the ability to identify their target needs. By doing so you can avoid simply rattling off a standard 'sales pitch' this will in itself sound well rehearsed, impersonal and un-convincing.

So focus on what is being said and listen for overtones and clues in the voice of the prospective customer.

An effective way to clarify your customer's needs is to ask them questions. But don't confront them with awkward questions - This will put them on the defensive and will most likely result in a failed sale.
