Not so long ago, I sat in a crowded bar after a conference in the US. I was flushed with success. An internet strategy that I had bought into was delivering impressive results. Every time I rolled it out I got £40,000+ back in next to no time and for next to no effort. Wow!

Here was a sure fire business winner. It couldn't fail. And I was ready to share my hot secret with my post conference dinner guests. Four of us sat at the table laughing, talking and joking. Then I told them of my success. I gave them the information they needed to use it and I told them how to do it.

All I wanted from them was proof (another case study) that my system, the strategy I'd been given, was everything for them that it was proving to be for me. That's all.

After all, it worked beautifully for me and I had always been brought up to share my sweets as a child!

Some time later, I came across the three guys that I'd shared my hot secret with at another conference back here in th UK. Not one of them - not a single one - had used what I had given them. They had sat on the idea and done nothing with it.

One was close to going out of business. One eventually did. And all made excuses - lack of time, lack of funds, lack of preparation, too busy, didn't properly understand … every lame excuse you've ever heard was trotted out.

Yet they had all had everything that I had used myself to make myself over £250,000 plus in the time since I had last seen them!

Doesn't matter what age you've reached, how young or how old you are, there are people that know better and more than you. Learn to listen to them and your life will be a whole lot richer for the effort you have made. (Your pocket is likely to be bigger too!) NEVER listen to anyone that has "something that is just too good to be true!" to offer you. The fact is - it is just that … almost ALWAYS to good to be true. There are no "free dinners" and no "hot tickets". Don't ever rush into anything, evaluate everything and if you're not sure - always ask for advice! Caution has saved me a fortune, but rush and risk has made fools out of plenty of friends and acquaintances that I have come to know. Think smart and you won't ever be fooled.
