Imagine for one minute that you owned a large apartment complex.
In total there are 5,000 apartments and each apartment has paying tenants.
Each month you earn money when those tenants pay their rent.
The money drops nicely into your bank… you need not do anything other than managing the properties and enjoy your money.
Today the money is deposited directly into your bank account automatically, but a few years ago you might have had to go from apartment to apartment collecting the rent.
It might have been a pain, but it wasn’t hard work.
The hard work was building the apartments and fitting them out with kitchens and bathrooms getting them ready to be rented.
Once built and rented though… all you have to do is collect the money.

Now, what if I told you that there is an online equivalent that works in a similar fashion… but without having to spend hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars to build that apartment complex?

There are many reasons why a person should make money using email but the two most important are:

Over $1 Million In 12 Days!
The popular email and internet marketer Anik Singal once made over $1 million after sending a series of 18 emails over a 12 day period to a relatively new list.
The emails were promoting an affiliate product for Joe ‘I appeared on The Secret and talk a lot of woo woo’ Vitale priced at $3,000.
Anik received half of that $3,000 for each sale netting him a cool $1,103,086 in 12 days.
Who would say no to that?
Anik is a big player and he knows what he is doing but it goes to show how powerful email can be. As I say, that was a relatively new email list that Anik built purposely for that specific affiliate promotion.
I read that Anik’s email list generally gives him $2 per month per person. What that means is that for a list of 5,000 people… he will earn $10,000 per month.
Now you see why I used $2 as rent in the example at the start of this article.
A list of 10,000 would earn him $20,000 per month.
A list of 20,000 would earn him $40,000 per month… etc etc.
I’m more than certain Anik has email lists which have far more than 20,000 names on them.
An industry-wide rule of thumb says that for every person on an email list, the list owner should earn $1 per month.
However…
How much you earn is also dependant on other factors such as the price of the products you promote, how responsive the list is, how congruent the product is to the list, and what kind of relationship you have developed with the people on your list.
If you are only promoting products that sell for $5 to an email list of 5,000 people who hardly open the emails, you aren’t going to make a lot of money.
Even though this is probably the easiest and one of the most profitable online businesses, there is a science to it.
There is a lot of potential with an email business but like most businesses, it depends on the numbers and what you sell.
Going back to Anik Singal who made $1,103,086 in 12 days, he was selling a product which paid him $1,500 in commissions.
Making just two sales in a 12 day period would make most people happy.
Wouldn’t you be happy if you made $3,000 in just 12 days sending a series of emails which took a couple of hours tops to write?
I know I would.
Amplifying and Magnifying Your Efforts
Email amplifies and magnifies your efforts because writing one email means that you can open up a conversation with hundreds and thousands of people.
If an email takes you 30 minutes to write and is read by 500 people, you have technically had 500 separate conversations which would have taken you 250 hours had you spoken to each person individually.
You have spent 30 minutes writing an email which can sell a product AND saved yourself 249 hours and 30 minutes by not having to speak to all of those people one to one.

When you have an email list and you generate $1 per person each month, that doesn’t mean that everyone on that list makes a $1 purchase each month.
No, it means that different people buy different products at different times which adds up to a specific annual amount which when divided by the number of people on the list equals $1 per month… or more!
For example; if you have an email list with 2,000 names on it, each person should be worth at least $1 a month or $12 per year. That list of 2,000 should be worth at least $12,000 a year to you.
That’s $12,000 waiting to be ‘milked’ from an email list.
And the process of ‘milking’ involves sending out simple easy-to-write emails.
Your Own Personal Cash Machine
Maybe ‘milking it’ it doesn’t do it for you, perhaps you would prefer to think more down the lines of that cheesy but incredibly accurate ‘cash machine’ analogy.
